I just thought I would bring this up.
Several years ago, a friend and I came up with the idea for a new DooM IWAD called "The People's DooM" (TPD). I announced the project way back in 2003 (!), and whipped up a quick and dirty IWAD consisting entirely of temporary entries, including grey stucco walls, mannequin enemies, levels randomly generated by Slige, and farts for sound effects. Unfortunately, nothing much happened after that. There was some short lived interest, but not enough to get the project going, and so it has remained ina sort of sleep mode since then. Since there has not been much activity here lately, I would like to suggest (again) the idea of reviving TPD as a group project for the folks here on this forum. It would be a worthwhile endevour and could be kind of fun. What do you think? {{EDIT: Yes. I know I have brought up TPD as a group project here before. I remember this TPD thing of yours from way back when... It would be good to see you get it done but it's hard to get help on here for a big project when there's only a couple of us, unfortunately. Personally I think I'm finished with team things after the first NDCP got done and I got Vilecore 2 to finish along with other things.

I haven't built anything for Doom in ages. I have one thing sort of started and a couple things churning around in my mind, but they're more like ZDoom script hacking projects than anything else. Really, DooM isn't something I play with very much anymore. My computer time gets spent on things intended to keep me fed.
I like your enhanced palette, but I don't think it will fly. Using a modified palette for an IWAD instantly destroys compatibility with every PWAD that uses added graphics. To a certain extent, even just using different, but similar textures, like in FreeDoom, has the same effect.
