No sound whatsoever, ever.
I was playing Doom II one day (note: sound working correctly during this) and when I selected options in the main menu to change something on my key config... all my sound just completely DIED. I thought "that's weird, I'll just restart it". But when I restarted it, I still had no sound and no matter how many new updates I download, none of them fix it. The only thing that fixes it is downgrading DRASTICALLY.
What the hell? What's causing this? It worked fine before, I never even changed anything that would make sound stop working. My config is correct and there's nothing wrong with my sound card as it works perfectly fine with everything else. If anyone knows how to fix this please do tell, thanks.
