Playtest Anyone?
I hope there are still people interested in giving this small map an try now that NDCP2 is out
This map will be part of an small mapset I am planning with these textures. Its pretty easy because its going to be map01 of an yet unknown number of maps I am going to do. The plan is to keep every map about the same size as this one, but of course they will get harder as you progress. The map is made for doom2 but you do need an limit removing port as well, I'm not sure if some ports choke on the ANIMDEFS thing thats in the wad. Hello Dutch Devil.
Hmmm. I am liking this map. The fighting in it is much fun. I am liking the technique you are using with the missing bricks in the walls. I am finding all the secrets as well, and the chaingun is very useful. Sorry, I am not finding any bugs, so I am not very helpful, but that is probably because there are none. (I played with PrBoom.) Anyways, thanks for sharing this mapping. It is enjoyable!

I didn't notice any bugs here either. Played in GZDoom!
The secrets were pretty easy to find, but otherwise it was a great map. You have a knack for design, dutchy. I had fun playing it. |

heh i blasted this map on UV. man i died like 3times befor i did it. man this map is rather awsome. found 0 bugs (zdoom). only found 1 secret
![]() that room with the 2 chaingunners is rather awsome, what am i talking about. the whole map is awsome, hope my maps come to your standard. there is nothing bad i can say about this map, maybe a little dark in some places, but thats just me. how long it taken u to churn that bad boy out? |

There are an few bugs that will get you stuck. For instance do not use the chair closest to the window to jump outside cause it will get you stuck. I hope the rest of the maps will match this one in terms of quality, map02 will be some underground tunnel map with nukage rivers.

It was pretty good, I did like the monster tele at the blue key, and despite not being a fan of quake-doom mixing, I actually liked the way this was textured.

nice work Dutch Devil. I want to thank you for your NDCP2 map01, its so good my girlfriend is actually encouraging me to play it, thats something really new, she normally hates if I play games on the computer so I usually wait until she is asleep or out.
The music attracted her to it, she couldnt stop herself coming over to see what I was up to and it looks every bit as good as it sounds, really good work there. Thanks.

Two new screens of map02, its about 80% done so far. I also made some changes to map01. I will post an link when map02 is done, hopefully finishing the second map doesn't take too long.

![]() It should work in GZDoom right? Edit: Good quality maps, I love the Quake theme and it went well with what you did. It would be cooler if you replaced the key sprites like how they looked in Quake 1 which was more of what the Doors were. The only drawback I believe is the lack of health. Unbeatable for me on Nightmare, but I barely passed it on UV with around 5% health. The first map is fine, just the second one has quite a lot of zombie sergeants and troopers which make it a bit more difficult. The secrets are just out of the ordinary, lol. But that's good. Challenges to get prizes in Doom is fun. Could be something more of what you would see in Quake 2 rather than Quake 1 though with the atmosphere and structures including the boxes.

Thanks, I don't want to change any sprites. Gameplay on map02 is an bit messy, it still needs some more attention. I like teasing players with my secrets, like the blue armor secret in map02. You can see it but you can't get to it, I think none of them are hard to find. With an bit of exploring and clever thinking it should be easy to find them.
