006 Arsenal
Arsenal by Ryan Evans
arsenal2.wad (21 KB) ftp://ftp.sunet.se/pub/pc/games/idga...-c/arsenal.zip port: Doom2.exe, Single, Coop, Deathmatch 03.17.95. 1 Map. Reviewer: Fatal using Jdoom. Score: 2,5 It's Certainly not worth playing. This wad is short and blocky even by '95 standards. The level design is simple. Go through the unlocked door to get a key to open the locked door to get another key to open another locked key to get the last key and to open the door guarding the finish. Simply put, the map doesn't offer anything. The level's pretty fun for the few first rooms (not that there are that much more of them), but having a cyber demon AND a spider mastermind in the same tiny level really doesn't fit. The level design is poor. None of the textures have been aligned, and there aren't many different textures being used. The level forces the player to find secrets in order to survive certain points, which is really stupid, because the secrets are unrecognisable. I found them with cheats, while I didn't feel like starting a blake stone/wolfenstein 3d fashioned wall hitting. One thing made me smile, though. It's the fact that the author gave his phone number in the readme file for feedback: "my number is ***-**** ask for ryan, i also will play doom2, doom, heretic!" Hehe, joking aside, this wad is just too short, blocky and bad designed to be fun. Forcing the player to find secrets isn't going to raise its points either. ![]() DIE DEVIL! ![]() It burns, doesn't it? |
