I'll have $4200.00 worth of cat food please.
Geez! It took me years of begging to get my first credit card with a measly $500.00 CDN limit, and now I find out a cat in Australia can get a $4200.00 AUS limit credit card without even trying?
http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20070104...t_070104065322 Me thinks me shall be moving to Aus real soon! |

Heh, yes this was on the current affairs program on Nine just last night. Its ridiculous how easy it is to get a credit card out here.
In some banks all they need is a card number and they can send you another credit card. They really need to toughen up laws and regulations on credit cards out here, its just TOO easy to get one. I'm currently unemployed, but I could still get one anyway. Its almost like that other time when the Commonwealth Bank sent a 16 year old kid a credit card with $2000 credit, and he was unemployed and had no way of paying back the money. Why not just get another card and use it to play the previous one?
![]() Methinks Boingo needs to come live in Alberta. I've never hard to beg for cards. I keep refusing offers for them.

Ah yes, I saw that on current affairs last night. I just laughed at it, silly banks saying that do all these checks when really they don't. That cat will be the richest cat in the neighbourhood!!

Messing with junk mail is quite amusing, I once filled in an online survey and put my first name as Doodle, I now get lots of offers addressed to Mr Doodle Montgomery

1.) In order to be approved for a credit card, you must have a credit history. (See 2.) 2.) In order to get a credit history, you must have a credit card. (See 1.) For years, I couldn't even get approved for a crummy Canadian Tire or Zellers credit card, let alone VISA or Master Card. Then I was able to get a student credit card while taking some courses. Now I receive offers for new credit cards almost every month whether I want them or not. |

Hehehehe. Yeah. 2 grams of polystyrene per card x 50 million cards does tend to add up.

Credit cards are just about the worst legal scam there is out there. Most idiots don't understand how they work and end up in debt up to their ears.
You shouldn't buy something with a credit card if you don't have the money to pay it off already. In that case, you're better off with a debit card. Using your own money, and your only limit is how much money you have. If you need more than that, get a fucking job. |
