Morgellon's Disease, a scary new disease thing
Now this is something pretty scary. A new disease that is just pretty bizzare and messed up...
Here's a link and it has a video you should watch. The article and video are very informative. Just have javascript enabled http://www.ktvu.com/news/9264350/detail.html My Comments: I can't believe that doctors and the labs just disregard it just because they are ignorant to what this new thing is. They say that it is delusional. balony! There is something going on here, some guy even says a thing swam around! (i don't know how true that is, but definately seems wierd enough for this) Now notice also how this is occuring in certain areas, like: The Gulf of Mexico area, California, Florida coast, Texas Coast. I'm telling you, it must have something to do with the water. There's probably something biological living in the water that just started breeding or something and it got into the people's bodies! And we don't know what it is. The guy was in a boat after all. And the lady said it oozes out of her skin while bathing! Just check this out, it's so wierd! *confused* Last edited by lucius octavion; May 28th, 2006 at 08:49 AM. |

The video doesn't want to open for me, and I do have Javascript enabled. Is it on Youtube or something?

The vid works for me. It's just one of those TV news report dealies that doesn't say much because they don't really know anything and basically says the same stuff the page does.
If it IS real then nobody knows wtf it is. Sounds creepy. |

If it was the water there you'd expect way higher infection rates, as in millions of people. If it is real and whole families are infected while almost nobody else is then there's perhaps some weird (and uncommon) genetic factor in there.
Saw this on a news page last week, only that mentioned fibres in different colours too. Here's the Wikipedia article.

The vid won't work for me either, but that's only because M$ apps that utilize the internet are being ghey and refuse to connect (gotta get to the bottom of that problem sooner or later)...
Sounds like a damn scary problem though. |

It happens to me too, but it works on my dad's laptop. Also, it might be from the genetic eating stuff...

Having already read about this, I don't need the link.
Personally, I find this really scarey, mainly because I'm down in Florida, at the same level the disease is at in Texas. Black tar like sweat, the fibers coming out of your body, it's all gotta be painful. I for one am scared s***less. Last edited by Zheardok; May 30th, 2006 at 07:23 AM. |

Having thought about this....
Last night I read an article that this disease has been reported decades ago. So wtf? If this thing IS real, then to me it looks like a form of skin cancer. If people in coastal areas like Florida and California are the ones getting this disease it's probably related to the amount of sun they get while on the beaches and such. I never understood the reasons why people spend hours laying in direct sunlight just to get a dumb tan. hah. The ozone is probably damaged to a point that it's causing this kind of damage to those why like to fry themselves. I really don't know but I think I'll stay in my basement.

Lawl. I want to excrete money as well.
![]() You have a good point, D_D. If it's down there and it's a skin problem then it would easily be some "don't tan you idiot" problem. But OTOH the article also said it's an inward infection. But who knows, I'm not a freeking doctor. |

Doom Dude, that is good point and an interesting is that there have been reports of the fibers in many colors, like red blue green, and even some of these fibers actually fluoresc under a black light. And Ace, I wouldn't think you need to be a doctor at this point, I mean they were pretty bad to those people. "Oh, your delusional. Its all in your head." when they got these things coming out of their body! "Dont Scratch!" and they die,
And doctors just don't know |

Yeah there's been times when people have had real diseases and when the docs can't figure out what's wrong they tell them they're delusional.
Then there's that whole family who has the disease. If it's skin cancer then they all shouldn't have it. Contagious skin cancer? Weird. O_o |

From the wiki article: It is also noted that widespread reports of skin fibers only date back to the time they were described at a Morgellons website.
Gee, shouldn't this tell us something? A doctor's opinion is much more weighted than that of a patient no matter how strongly that patient feels they're right. A doctor doesn't go to school for 8 years for nothing. |

Just because they're doctors doesn't mean they're not human. Humans make mistakes and can be wrong. That's why there's also second opinions. Hell, I maintain a 100+ grade in math and today I made the stupid mistake of thinking I was owed back what I paid out of a split bill, rather than the amount left over from what I paid (I contributed more than the other person and therefore they owed me the amount left over from that). I argued about it for an hour, too, and then had to slap myself on the forehead when I realized how stupid I was about it.
Yes, they go to school for several years, and they know plenty about things like this, but there have been plenty of "experts" that weren't so professional. And then consider the number of cases that apparently show all the same symptoms. I highly doubt that delusions are contagious, especially over multiple states in the same region. And finally, there is no statistic, as far as I can tell, on how many cases reported have been diagnosed as delusions. There could have only been a handful, for all we know. |

And excretting money instead of sweat would be sometimes cool. Be a bit painful though... Last edited by Zheardok; May 30th, 2006 at 07:30 AM. |
