Heretic bug / popularity.

First, I found a bug in Heretic... Apart from the absence of any "pause" text and the funny console colours we all know, try to run it in software mode and go into the automap. YouÂ´ll see it doesnÂ´t fill the whole game screen. Now do some "Follow mode off" and get the map out of the background: enjoy the automap HOM effect :P.

And now... How many people own Heretic?. I found it to be quite nice but canÂ´t find much maps for it (not to mention Legacy wads. I only remember one project in WIP) and such. Some Freewad for Heretic could be fun.

Heretic is a great game. It supports lots of other features that Doom doesn't. But yeah. Legacy doesn't really have Doom's level of support attached.

You get a crash when you gib solid corpses. There's plenty of similar issues here too. It's probable that it doesn't check whether Doom or Heretic is used when performing some operations. Solidcorpse probably displays the Doom Sprites when gibbed but has no handling for Heretic. Thus, it crashes when it can't find the appropriate ones.

I really _love_ Heretic and Shadow Of The Serpent Riders. For the time being it was my favourite eye candy toy and still is the best-looking game based on the doom engine.
I replay it on a regular base using <shame>doomsday</shame>.

I would be happy to have better heretic support in Legacy. ( But in fact I would be happy to get _anything_ new from Legacy. )
