Yeah, I check it from time to time but didn't see anything happening lately so I finally decided to brake down and run a server heh.

So does anyone feel like trying this gig out again? I'd love to play some dm with ya again rocket, you too rellik.
I can host up a server of any port ya like, but the ping probably wouldn't be too great. Currently hosting: Doom Legacy 1.42 DooM2 Map07 IP: 71.219.20.125 (it's variable, so i'll update it as it changes. I wish the master server was working heh.) I'll keep it up as much as I can. Also, if you guys would prefer to use another port until legacy2.0 becomes a viable option, I'm open to that as well...
I mean lets face it, the C version of legacy has pretty shoddy netcode for anything over 80 ping.. Oh, and New IP: 71.219.20.125 edit: arhg, the computer I was using to host the game over heats. I woke this morning to a 52C hard drive and 61C CPU. I need to fix that :/ Last edited by Mike.Reiner; August 10th, 2007 at 10:35 AM. |

Heh, ouch. You know I would be open to using something like OpenGl Skulltag for the time being as long as it's not on map with all those crazy power-ups and stuff. Jimmy ain't into that.
It is kind of a pain in the ass to play Legacy online for now, but it would still be nice to play. There's Odamex and ZDaemon too.We should make a rule that everyone who shows up has to bring a new map, either one they've made or a good one they've found that hasn't been played much. There are so many great maps out there and yet so many time people just play the same old tired levels... Heh, or maybe everyone has to bring a new map every week for us to play. Give us a chance to flex our (tiny) mapping muscles too.

Well shoot. I can host up a Judas23_ skulltag game. That level is friggin awesome man.
Exec, brit11, greenwar, shoot.. gotta go find some other good ones too. Welp, i'm gonna host up a Skulltag game, no crazy crap attached. My old compy can handle that, running legacy online puts the cpu at 100% usage... but ST is like 10 lol. OK, SkullTag server is up. Judas23_.wad Theres none of that crazy stuff enabled, I configured it to be as close to old school as I can. 71.35.239.249:5030 The server's name is "Mike's DM!" so you can just look at the server list and find it there as well. No password. I can set one if you guys like. Last edited by Mike.Reiner; August 10th, 2007 at 04:53 PM. |

Thats it, I give up on skulltag. I CANNOT get it to behave, at all. I dont' know what it is, but I can't get it to play smoothly. I get 80 ping on lan, then it just freezes up. It does it on my friend's pc too, so screw ST until they get their crap in order.
I've decided to take the easy route and just make a ZDaemon server. It's easy on resouces and doesn't cause this poor old PC to overheat. The server name is Mike.Reiner's DM I'll host whatever ya guys like. Current I have exec.wad up. If you want anything more obscure and worth looking at, just shoot me a PM. |
