I am sorry I haven't been keeping up on things lately, but I would like to know just how close version 2.0 is to completion.
Would you say that Version 2.0 will be done in time for Christmas, a mere three months from now? I really must know. |

Yes as Zane said, there are only 3 months left before the legacy team will have to say "happy new year" again.

The 2.0 beta version is missing two big elements, OpenGL renderer and netcode.
When they're in place, we'll need a debugging period (and probably lots of tuning for the netcode parameters) before the actual release. The netcode takes at least a month, and only Hurdler can tell how soon he gets the OpenGL stuff working. After the beta there will be a feature freeze, which from a mapper's viewpoint makes it as good as the actual release

Is the Tribes source netcode being put into Legacy 2.0, or what was the scoop on that?

in Tribes 1 and 2 too. It's not the same netcode, but a similar one.

Yes, ATM it's Smite-Meister working mostly alone on it, for the Win32/Linux side.
