copyright permissions

hi, im hl2:doom mod leader (website: http://hldoom.csssbg.com/ )
i have question about idsoftware - how i can contact them to license their doom2 logo?
activsision support say go to idsoftware website and contact them but i cant see any contact info on the idsoftware website.
and do i need permission to use doom2 textures in my mod?

They're not likely to give you any official permission for anything. That said, id isn't exactly known for policing mods. There are already DooM/DooM II mods for Half-Life, Quake II, etc. I don't think they'll go after your mod unless you start trying to sell it. Then they'll come down on you like a tonne of bricks dropped off a skyscraper.

As for contacting id, I don't have a clue.

I just looked too, I went everywere I dont know how to contact them, exect I have a hunch that I dont have the time to figure out if it right or not. Download a freeware version of an id game like quake or something, they will keep urging you to buy the whole version of the game. they might give you a phone number to call and order but instead of ordering you ask to talk to the management or something, I dont know, its just an idea. I will keep searching the web page. ok. (this is driving me crazy!)

Why don't you just stop searching if it's driving you mad..?
Just look at all the mods and stuff using the DooM logo.. Like Aliotroph? said they don't care UNLESS you take money for it.. Heh just look at the new DooM movie... hehe.. It has nearly NOTHING to do with the original DooM..

well just to keep your butt safe, use textures and graphics from the Doomsday community projects. they have high resolution textures and stuff somewhere.
