Need help from you veterans
Hi, I just discovered doomsday, and I must tell that Im AMAZED by it, it simply kick ass
Now, I need some help: 1) Changing the Gamma, Contrast, and Brightness I screwed my game... what are the ideal values to be set?? I tried to press "Default", but it didnt worked. 2) I downloaded the Resouce pack with the 3d models, and they look awesome. however, Im not able to activate them when I play on DoomConnector (Jdoom of course) How can I activate them?? 3) Ive a Geforce4 fx 5200 256 mb, a p4 1800mhz, and 512 mb of ram...however in larger enviroments or when there are lots of monsters, the game is really choppy! Anyway to solve this beside upgrading the system? 4) THe weapons models in the Resource pack are great, but I noticed that you have even better ones! Could you link me some good weapon pack? (note: I want just reskins...the old doom weapons with new look, no AK-47 or other different weapons Could you give me a link? I looked on google witn no success 5) The Music... there are a lot of music packs, but they all seems to be incomplete. I want ALL the music of ALL versions of Doom, TNT & Plutonia included. 6) Any custom wads for doomsday? Where can I download them and how do I run them?? Thats a lot of stuff....please help me if you can! Thanks!

Some of the recent maps out there (if you are talking about regular doom levels, im not sure) have a large amounts of segments and lines and whatnot, but doomsday cant handle it all at this point.
yes there are some custom wads out there, but i cant remember. I think the PSX doom music is the best. I do remember using doomsday to play alien vendetta perfectly. I dont know what now, just play with your favorite Jpacks and leave the others behind. |

Ehm...if someone has read my 1st post I asked for some specific questions...
I already browsed these sites for hours trying to find answers... Is it so hard to tell me the ideal Gamma\Brightness\luminosity settings and all the other questions? I think I red somewhere in the doomsday installer that here should be a community "eager to help"

I can only really answer your fifth question - only Sycrafts music and the PSX soundtrack offer a complete replacement. However I suggest you download Dj Redlights pack as well for use with Doom 1 / 2, it's my personal favourite.

Unfortunately, I'm unable to provide a link to download it at the moment, as the only one I know of exists upon the main DoomsdayHQ page, under 'downloads', and sadly this link is broken. The pack does not appear to be hosted on JFiles either...hmmm |

The only packs I can think of are JDRP 1.0.1, JDRP 1.1 WIP, and Abbs pack.
The Abbs pack link does work in firefox, but the package itself is rather old. It caused some problems with the JDRP 1.01 when I first packaged it for Debian. I had to rearrange the files a bit, and extract ded files etc to get it working fine. If you have trouble with the Abbs pack, or if anyone else wants Abbs pack pm me and I'll make a Windows/Mac compatible download available. I like Abbs pack and that is what I use, haven't tried JDRP 1.1 yet. Not enough free time. |

About the models with doomconnector.
I've had the same problem, but I got it fixed by adding -file }Data/jDoom/jDRP.pk3 -def }Defs/jDoom/jDRP.ded that to the parameters, and then enabling the 3d models from the options. |

Is abbs pack really not working for firefox users? Why not? I'm willing to host a lot of packs that people can't find space for.

you can enable most 3d models by pasting the .pk3 file into /data/jdoom/auto (you may have to make the 'auto' folder)
