Alien Darkness - Released

I just found this over at DW, it's another new map built specificaly for jDoom (Risen 3D might work as well I don't know).

It's called Alien Darkness and it's by the same author as Hell on Eqypt sitters. Get it HERE

Click on Alien Darkness in the lower right corner (btw bland website dude, don't know if it's just not working 100% in Firefox though...)

I don't know how it plays cos my comp's still fuxxored.

I happy to sayjDoom seems to be attracting a lot more interest as of late from wad editors , plus some who can model as well

Nice couple of maps there Dani - although the bats he uses to launch them are a bit of a mouthfull - lol.
I tried to simplify this by putting all the egypt textures and models into a .pk3 inside a dir called egypt auto and then running the following BAT file:

cd "e:\doomsday\data\jdoom"
ren auto 1auto
ren egyptauto auto
PAUSE
cd e:\doomsday
jDoom -file hellegypt.wad e:\Doomsday\data\jdoom\doom2.wad -maxzone 256m -pwadtex
cd "e:\doomsday\data\jdoom"
PAUSE
ren auto egyptauto
ren 1auto auto

( note that without the pauses my pc runs too quickly to rename the files before loading)

I'm not sure that the models work though - there are no defs for them with the install - are these defined inside the wad - as the model names are different than normal doom 2?
Thx for the link and any help.

The models do work. At first I also thought they didn't - just look for them.

There is a DD_DEFNS lump in the wad. There is actually a bug here with AlienDarkness.wad.

It is here ...

State {
ID = "REDLIGH";
Sprite = "CAND";
Frame = 32768;
Tics = -1;
Next state = "REDLIGHT";
}

Note that the T is missing in REDLIGHT, resulting in an imp sprite being rendered instead of redlight.

I have emailed the author about this bug.

EDIT : Same for HellEgypt. Author informed.

Maybe now fixed ?

It wont run under Risen3D. Incompatability with inbuilt ded file.
