Virus attack defeating phpBB forums
Santy.A is a worm which targets only the Web sites lodging a forum phpBB. If this last is not up to date, the worm infects the Web site by exploiting a vulnerability criticizes recently revealed, then replaces its homepage by a message “This site is defaced!!!” in red on black bottom, preventing its visitors from reaching it. The Net surfers visitors are not affected by this worm, which automates in fact the hacking of Web sites.

yeah, I took down my phpBB forums because of this. I didn't get hit personally, but because I link to my forums/website in so many signatures on other forums, the chances of it spreading to me are pretty good. I decided that I'll just go and write my own forum software. that'll do it.
