Show your tattoos!
Hey, I figured that since soon I'll have an avatar and its going to be a pic of my tattoo I might as well ask you guys to show me yours and tell me a bit about it.
Here's mine: Its a slightly modified bass cleff; a musical thing. Its on the inner part of my right forearm. Id post better pics but my photobucket page isnt loading right now. Ive been playing bass for about 7 years, probably more and I got that tattoo last January right before I left the house for college. Playing music with a band is the only thing in life that really makes me genuinely happy and since bass is the only instrument I feel really comfortable with and can fully express myself on, I feel that the tattoo has great significance for me. With any luck that will show up as my avatar as soon as Im done posting this. I posted mine, now you post yours! Peace Nick EDIT: I cant find info on uploading or linking to a custom avatar. For the love of God give it time!
Nothing is worse than seeing a rediculously bad tattoo or meeting someone who says they dont like theirs anymore. |

Sure: Just add it.
Since you have over 60 posts now, you just have to point to the location of the pic in your avatar settings (see "user cp"), and violĂ*: Your new avatar.

I would post a pic of my home made tattoo but its just a tiny blue blob on my left arm. I was in a gang at the time and we were all making our own tattoo's, to look 'cool and hard'. For reasons I cant remember I came to my senses long before I did too much damage to myself. I am so happy I stopped when I did.

Oh Goldeyes has her Winnie the Pooh one.
I still don't know if I would or not. I have a couple of ideas, I drew a dragon one that I really like which is on a character I drew so it is totally unique and of my own making and I do like it enough for that but if I'd go and get it done I don't know and where I wouldn't know. I should redraw the design as it could do with a bit of refining and really think it over. |

See, logic has about a ten year lag. You get the tattoo, and like it, and parade it around. But ten years later, you look back, find your tattoo, and think, "What the hell was wrong with me? What the hell was I thinking? I don't even like them anymore."

EDIT: Its showing now. Quote:
One last note: In the past tattoos were signs of rebeliousness and were seen as an extreeme thing on the frige of society and not acceptable. These days, and with our generation they are just another part of everyday life. While people who came from a generation where tattoos were not accepted are likely to feel it was a bad decision, people who grew up when tattoos were more acceptable will be more likely to be content with them. |

I don't have any tattoos, but I can show you some nice scars for anyone who's interested
![]() There's the one I got when I fell face down on the central heating as a little kid. It's just above my eye and the wound needed 5 stitches. Then there's the one I got when I crashed with my bike and hit the sidewalk at 20 Kmh. Luckily I broke my fall with my right arm, which now has two small patches of scarred skin. Then there's the one I got when a 7 inch crab I caught pinched the tip of my finger. Damn, those bastards sure do have a lot of force in those pincers. Anyway, I'll never get myself a tattoo, just because I'm too afraid of regretting it later. |
