TNT2 chipset, eh? I had that in my desktop. Isn't that kinda old? Mine couldn't even handle fullscreen mode with my movies half the time. It just gave up and crashed.....

Nope. Nuh-uh. No way, no how. It lacks a large number of the features necessary to play Doom 3 properly, among them texture compression and hardware stencil buffering. Sorry. What is the rest of your system like? It may be that you simply need a video card upgrade if you wish to play the game.

eracism, you can't seriously be asking that question with a straight face.

I read the title of this thread and I thought this was another one of those sarcastic ones like: Pentium Pro MMX, 32 meg EDO ram, 24x CD-Rom.... I'm ready for Doom III!

But since you're serious, here's an honest answer: With that rig, you probably won't even make it to the load screen. It's that simple.

Yeah, you're in fine shape. Obtain a decent newer graphics card when you're able; I recommend a 128 MB card, and if possible make sure that it will use the ARB2 codepath. The GeforceFX and Radeon 9500 (and up) would do well; make sure they have 128-bit DDR memory, and go kick some demon ass.

The display's WAY off. Shame on them for saying that. A 64 MB card is needed, and preferably one in the supported list:
ATI: Radeon 8500, 9000 series, X*00 series
Nvidia: Geforce3, Geforce4 MX, Geforce4 Ti, GeforceFX, Geforce6 series

Its obvious why he's selling it. The SE claims another victum. Well its a huge improvement at least and being on TNT2 the idea of using AA/AF won't cross your mind (for a while at least) so you should be good.

the 9600se would work fine but any 32mb card like the tnt2 would not or atleast thats what the min reqs on the box says ''64mb hardware accelerated video card and lastest drivers''....oh also if your getting the 9600se its not that bad playing doom3, my friend has one and it ran at 640x480 at med, he gets atleast 30 fps. i still think you should get a radeon nonpro, pro. or xt version, if you want a ATI card. im running doom3 on a pny geforce 5200 128mb and the game looks really good, i was surprised..tho if you go Nvidia then get a geforce 5700 card atleast

The SE has only a 64bit memory bus giving half the memory bandwidth. AA is out of the question and hell 32 bit color is probably going to give a big hit too. 1 step forward 2 step backwards if you ask me.
