Drawing...
A drawing of mine... this one is based on an original by my little sister... the original sucks... but I liked the theme so I reworked it....
It's the first I colored too.

That looks pretty cool. Like how you did the writing effects.

Photoshop
I used photoshop to paint the image. The method is not quite brilliant but worked for me. Just painted everything with dark colors and then, added the clearer areas with that function... oh I forgot the name... in the same button as burn... but it makes things lighter...
The image itself I draw with a pencil and later, a pen. |

Well, the method your using is lacking one thing. You should have one base color, then add dodge/burn to areas. Right now, your image only has darker areas, no highlights.
Btw, I am using the dodge/burn method an im going to try to stop using it... its quite bad imo, images will look too "clean". |

To tell you the true...
Actually I suck when it comes to coloring... even with colored pencils... So, I'm pretty proud of the results I got using the dodge tool.
As I said... I used dodge to make the base colors clearer so the result is nothing but amateur. Oh... and the original image is a huge lot bigger than this one... so you get to see the details that are missing... |
