Problem with jDoom and selfbuilt Map :(
Hi, i´m new at this forum and i hope you can help me out with the problem.
It´s as i wrote above, i am building maps with edmap 1.31 (more stable than the 1.4) and every time i want to start it with the jdoom launcher, it crashes when i hit "new game" and in the following menu the difficulty... i also tried compiling with edmap, compiling with jdoom, nothing worked sometimes, i dont know how, but sometimes it just worked and there were no crashes and nothing. then i modified my map again, and it was over again ![]() Maybe other launchers would work better? legacy brought me an error about he could not find the main wad file... infact i told him where to find the doom2.wad... very strange ![]() thx so far for the help. Check your doom version, check if your map has everything that has to be there and be certain that all nodes are build

Wow, this is really fast help, thx
![]() jDoom crashes with: "jDoom.exe caused an error blabla" (some german stuff i cannot translate correctly). there´s no error code ![]() I dont think there´s a problem with the map i am building, even when i create a single room map with nothing in it instead of the player start, it works with doom2 "classic". but when i try to start jdoom and hit new game, it comes to the error. Maybe it´s the "newes" alpha i´m using? can someone post a link to the most stable last version of jdoom pls? ah yes, the version of doom2 i am using is the 1.666. Cya, DJMadMax |

Its edmap´s fault at all. The tiniest bug in the map makes jdoom crashing and edmap is kinda bugful
. To bad that edmap is the only doom editor i can work with really good. but i think i can fix all bugs out so far. saving, testing, saving testing and so on, thats how it works ![]() Next Question would be, how can i build a completely new 32map wadfile with edmap? or can i use an external program for compiling a new wad after i built all my 32 maps with edmap? Cya, DJMadMax EDIT: Maybe i should start a new thread under classic doom editing *rolleyes* /EDIT |

Nope, i can help here, i dunno about edmap but you could better use doombuilder
![]() Just make seperate maps and join them together via edmap (if that's possible, else just download XWE and merge the wads)
