DeusEx Invisible War

I've got DeusEx Invisible War game and i can't play with it.

my computer can handle it for the spec needed, but my video card is a nVidia GeForce 4 MX 440 with AGP8X 64mo,

the readme file talk about this card is not supported for the game... normaly a video card not supprted can play it but not with the same aspect. i have many game that are not supported for my card and they play well.

i've updated my drivers for the latest version 56.64 winxp2k english whql


i want it run !!!! its the first time i have a game that wont load! !!!! HELP !!!!!!!!!!

my spec.

Intel Celeron 2.0 gHz
256 mo DDR ram
nVidia GeForce 4 MX 440 with AGP8X 64mo
Windows XP.
Hard disk, enought (40 Go)

I would immediately say get a better video card. The nVidia GeForce 4 MX 440 with AGP8X 64mb is not a very good card, to tell you the truth .

maybe, but it run perfectly to most of my games.
thats the first time i gto a problem.

That Celeron is even worse. Whats the error message? Unsupported video card or does it just not want to load?

Try the Omega drivers. I used to have the same card and these drivers fixed a few problems I used to have in some games. I've not played DeusEx Invisible War though.

If it says that in the readme, the usually its correct. Can someone tell me what the MX is lacking? AFAIK it has hardware T&L right? If it doesnt, theres your problem.
Also as Undertaker said the Celeron is bad, even clocked at 2ghz. The Celeron will probably cause performance issues, but the reason that it wont even run is because of the video card I think.

for the error message, i can't read it. This is the worst error message problem i've saw.

invisible war require a video card can do pixel shader 1.1 but the geforce mx card can't do it because the card is a directx 7 hardware one and it require a directx 8 card like geforce 4 TI or a radeon 8500 minimum ....

and I have to put down the video options to play because its very lagy in certain place of the game but its a big big one game for the hardware like far cry

A Radeon 9000 pro is down to about $40 or less on Ebay, I'd suggest getting one of those, and donating that MX to the toilet...

I have a 9000pro, it served me well for what I do, and was quite cheap (doesnt like Far Cry, however ).

X-Doom, unfortunately the MX440 will not play Deus Ex IW at all. It is officialy not supported by Ion Storm.

I wouldnt buy a new card just for DX though, because its much too demanding game. If you wait until Doom 3 comes out, you will be able to get a better card for cheaper...

DXIW has the most ridiculous performance, for the way it looks.

I played DuesEx IW on my XBOX and had an utter BLAST! I plan on playing the original soon. Perhaps I'll check into the Paystation version for Sh1ts and giggles. I only wish they made XBOX 2 Paystation controller adaptors.
