Hi guys,
after a lot of reflections, I decidet to abbandon "DooM Remake" project to make new one : "jDoom Community Pack" , this time whit the permisson of all authors. First of all I contact the authors in the credits page of my old relase for authorization, anyway if some one don't want partecipate can send me a PM. After that, I want make a site for the project, this time in italian and english, out of indrema.it The pack will be relased whit an HTML document whit a full list of credits and explanations on the role of comunity and of single member information (url, e-mail ecc...). The version 1.0 of pack will be relased when is ready. For suggestion, to underwrite the project or other please post here. I hope this time every misunderstanding are exceeded. |

Now things are settled and you restarted on the right way with a good impression.
What could be an idea for your new pack is perhaps a set of Deathmatch levels and/or single/co-op levels just to show your pack (costum iwads )

Also you could add a lot of high quality wads for our gaming pleasure
(Gothic and Darkeing wads for example) to make the pack the very best thing you can get for doom

What if you changed it to a Doomsday community pack and included stuff for Heretic/Hexen?

sweet, hopefully you will add chiv's soldier without the katchup blood or without having to use thos old md2 skins for the head, the shotgun/pistol/chaingon or use the old flashes. Those models lock ass! I also loke the added depth the boots, the armor and the helmet have, unfortionately JDRP's human's don't have that but they ahve the real blood.

Maybe once 1.8 comes out, JDRP will have a better soldier model to replace Chiv's?

I like the idea. It'd be a great resource, especially for people new to Doomsday. Maybe even have its own webpage, with screenshots (including before/after shots). Also, as I said earlier, Heretic/Hexen stuff should be included as well, since Doomsday supports those games (the pack should be renamed to A Doomsday Community Pack). Maybe have the option of downloading everything as one big file, then downloading multiple files (such as downloading all Doom stuff, all Heretic stuff, all Hexen stuff, then maybe have an option to download all Doom/Heretic/Hexen models, etc.). Just make sure you get permission from everyone before you go into this. And if you e-mail somebody who hasn't been around the community for a while, but don't get a response after say, a week or two, I'd say it's safe to use his stuff as long as it's not modified and as long as you give proper credit to the author.

I guess what he means is that hes glad that there is a pack that squishes everything together into one so you don't have to download a lot of seperate files and then get them to all play nicely.
