Want to make CTF Maps? Inquire within...
ZDaemon is going to incorperate Capture the Flag support in the very near future. The only problem is, we need maps to go along with the gametype itself. Before someone mentions skulltag, their CTF maps are incompatable with our way of doing CTF, and even if it was, it's not fair to steal their maps for our own use.
So yeah, we want mappers from around the various DOOM communities to try their hand at CTF mapping. If it's good enough, we'll include it in our CTF map pack. Mapping for ZDaemon CTF is really easy. All you have to do is follow these simple rules * Red and Blue keycards are Red and Blue flags * Red and Blue ZDoom particle fountains are red and blue team starts * Deathmatch starts are Spectator spawn points * No ZDoom scripting is allowed. Any other type of ZDoom trick is A-OK Before you start laughing me out of NewDoom, let me tell you that we already have maps done. In fact, I'll show you every single map we have gotten working so far... MAP01: Refineries (by AlexMax) ![]() MAP02: Something Epic (by AlexMax) ![]() MAP03: The Excavation (by AlexMax) ![]() MAP04: Frozen (by AlexMax) ![]() MAP05: Outer Limits (by AlexMax) ![]() MAP06: Untitled (by Ralphis) ![]() MAP07: Cursed (by ATG_Death) ![]() So....any questions? Any of you up for making a CTF map? |

I have no deadlines to speak of. What I do ask is that I get regular updates about the map in question. Ralphis is still technically working on his, and he has something to show for it evey 2-3 days. Bloodlust, someone who is working on a map which is not quite finished, gives me an update every 2-3 days as well.
Basically, start as soon as you can, and get it done as soon as you can. ZDaemon 1.06 (With CTF support) is being released in 1-2 weeks, and I would like to have a finished WAD to go with it when it's released. I also highly suggest reading my guide to creating CTF maps which is shown here: http://forums.zdaemon.org/viewtopic.php?t=1453 This is the CTF WAD as of right now... http://raider.dnsalias.com:8001/doom/wads/6ctfmegb.zip You can use any textures and flats from the WAD that you like. Okay I read the tutorial. I;m not saying I'll be able to show something every 3 days, but I'll aim for a one-week deadline.
