I'm making this thread to see what you guys think should be improved in the most excellent XWE program? Maybe we can bugger Csabo and he'll do a few things to improve the program.
![]() I'm thinking it needs to not be loading resources at the end of the file, but insert them between or near selected markers and thus eliminate all that scrolling through stuff. Somebody else could probably explain this better than me but anyways..... What else does XWE need? |

I do hope you mean bug, not bugger. Heh.
Anyway, I'd like it if it always displayed image entries, rather than you having to press enter to display them. Being able to play sounds just by pressing enter would be real useful as well. |

Did I say bugger? LOL! I meant bug.
You can click on entries without using 'enter' but it would be better if you could use your arrow keys to go up and dowm and surf through the images.

I see what your saying and you're right. Still it would be nice if you didn't have to press enter and the highligted entry would display.
Yeah he's still around.

From what I've heard on Doomworld the development of XWE has stopped completely....

I guess I'm still around, just never have much to say. I fixed a few things in XWE already. I will upload it today.
Those two things you guys have asked for (insert after currently selected lump and auto previewing images when scrolling through the lump list) would be cool, I'll try to add them. |

I'm glad he's working on it, or may be.
I'll need to send him some Pay Pal love. Here's my wish-list:

Reject Table Editor - Kinda like RMB's Matrix
More relaxed lump entry (for 24 and 32bit PNG files supported by JDoom among other ports)
Allow the addition of "blind" lumps, meaning, if I want to add a MIDI file, that's okay, even if it might not be supported in the engine. In a nutshell, maybe some more support for Ports.
Better LUMP Filtering Support (the show all and show only stuff doesn't work all the time)
A Save button. I've accidentally made changes to PWADs that I didn't intend to -- and without much warning.
The ability to add a Texture'n' entry using a patch that might not be supported by the vanilla engine. E.g. The ability to create a Texture'n' "dummy" entry from the aforementioned PNG file. Right now, unless it's a palatted image, you can't even create a dummy entry.
|
