Doom marine face
Ive started working on a model of the Doom marines face. Here is a WIP pic of it
![]() Ive still got to fix the skin up a bit (possibly a new skin, just using an altered version of the original sprite) also make the different facial expressions he uses. btw, does anyone know if its possible to use a model for the HUD graphics? if not ill just take a screenshot of all the animations and use them instead Last edited by Slide; February 12th, 2004 at 03:17 PM. |

Very good. Though I think all the major details on the face should be modelled in (mouth, nose etc....). I might be looking at it wrong. Though still, great work.

OH MY GOD ITS A NEAR PERFECT REPRESENTATION OF TOM BERGERON!!!1
The forehead isn't tall enough, plus his eyes position are slightly shifted to the left. Good model tho

Pretty awesome. Make his cin a tad smaller cause it looks a little cartoony at the moment, but other than that yeah man it's awesome.
Until 3D models can be used in the HUD, you should make it do the right faces in MD2 viewer, take a screenshot and then make them into patches as PNG files. The model would be great for when he looks to the side when getting hit. If you make the skin a tad higher-resolution you can get more detail in there, his hair looks a bit pixelly at the moment so if you were to enlarge the image and edit the hair to look more... hairy... then that would be cool. |

Thats looking good so far.
Always remember to put your model at 100% self illuminated when skinning, it's far easier to gauge differences in tonal areas. |

One thing you could try (with the hair) is to model it out from the head a little.
Also you might want to make the eyeballs seperate models (if you haven't already) as it's much easier to animate. |

Ive already modelled the hair out a bit, not in the screenshot shown here but an updated one.
And the eyes have been modelled separatly |

Very nice, looks better than the other attempted "improved" HUD faces (not including the helmeted HUD guy)
wouldn't you need seperate, but minorly changed model for each damage level skin? Show them your WIP medkit!!!

niice, Keep up the good work! We are really going to make JDooM some serious level 2 Sh*t
the medkit looks a little plain IMO, spice it up a bit maybe with somthing that looks like a warning label or somthing but, other then that it looks tons better the the other model. |
