Okay, here's the reason I haven't been around much in the last couple of days. I've known for a while I was going to get a new laptop from school and I was way too lazy to post a topic for it.
Anyway, now that I took 5 minutes to set up the net on it, here's what I have to say. It's the sweetest laptop you've ever seen! Here's the specs: 1.066GHz mobile PIII. 256MB SDRAM (I think it's SDRAM) 16MB mobile ATI Radeon (don't know the model) 18.6GB HD A multi0-bay with a DVD and one of those superdisk things, plus an extra battery integrated ethernet and 56k 14 or 15 inch screen that's really really bright A sweet keyboard Win2000 Professional & Office XP Professional A portable Cannon scanner (flatbed) that fits in the bag too A shitty ESS Allegro soundcard Some other stuff This thing is awesome! It took forever to network it with my other laptop to copy stuff but it was worth it. I love this thing even though it's made my Compaq. It's like my Cute of computers. I guess a year of waiting was worth it.------------------ "Killed Aliotroph?" - obituary from Perfect Dark |

Sounds cool, lucky so and so.
I've got a USB Canon scanner too, its good & fast & small, powered of the USB port so not meaty adaptor plug ![]() I couldn't get a lot of Doom utils (DETH, wintex, etc) to work right with W2K, no problems with XP. |

We got the same scanner! Sweet!
I haven't tried any DooM utils yet but I got my other DOS stuff working fine. Forgot to mention my nice optical wheel mouse (also USB). ------------------ "Killed Aliotroph?" - obituary from Perfect Dark |

Legacy runs like a dream. I can like it with the graphics maxed in a deathmatch with my brother on a LAN through a crossover cable though.
Most of my DOS stuff actually runs better than on my win98 laptop. Scorced Earch runs with accurate speed instead of running way too fast (I'm not sure how that happened). Everything has been really stable too. I have a PS2 port, but the mouse I got was USB for some reason. My ethernet is integrated too so I still have to PCI-CIA slots. ------------------ "Killed Aliotroph?" - obituary from Perfect Dark |

Yeah, just wish I had a GeForce or a nicer Radeon card. Some things want more video memory. One of the 64k demos yelled at me when I tried to increase the resolution and another bitched about virtual memory (I don't know why it bothers since it just increases it anyway).
I've been picking bugs in beta5 of Legacy. I found a couple nasties today to report on the forum. ------------------ "Killed Aliotroph?" - obituary from Perfect Dark |

I usually take up other people's desk space. When I'm at dad's I sit in the living room in a Lazy Boy chair with a desk on wheels.

Does the chair have wheels too? Do you shoot to the fridge and back in that thing?

No wheels. Too bad. It would be too hard to work all the cables then anyway.

Oh well, it sounded like a good idea, when you mentioned the wheels.

It would be fun if I could do that. Maybe with a wheelchair.

Yeah, it would: a wheelchair dragging an ethernet cable.
