Today I was playing Vilecore and I remembered how you (and all of us) hated the look of The Rife Hive. Earlier I grabbed that map and started playing with it in DeePsea. Some rooms are a bitch (like the first one) but I got lots of it looking much more interesting. The main idea I had was to make most of it pretty damn dark and use all those lamps to do the work. Some of the textures got replaced (and aligned on the curves thanks to DeePsea). I've been throwing in more details and stuff without changing the gameplay (which is pretty damn good) and it's looking neat.
I don't plan on distributing this or anything. I just thought you ought to know that map ain't worthless and it's really a lot of fun to play. Damn, I've been so tempted to throw in some 3D lighting and stuff... ------------------ Aliotroph?.postCount++; |

Well your not the only one who seems to like to mess with my junk.
Anyhow I know the map plays pretty good and I like how all the critters come out of the woodwork at one point. I'm not sure what I'll do with it when I get that far in Vile II. I might either toally replace it, rebuild it from scratch or just fix it up.------------------ The Megawad: Home of Vilecore People will believe what they want to believe, no matter what the truth is.... ------------------------ Sometimes it's not easy following the path of least resistance. |

When I get bored of playing with it I'll show you what I did to it. That effect with the monsters coming out of the woodwork is even scarier in the dark.

So are a couple of the others but we'll see. Lots of the design was already good. I really liked the corridors.

I miss my highly customized and super-fast win98se install. My 366MHz Celeron laptop ran twice as fast as a 700MHz box running winME (winME is a load of shit).

Windows Complete. It controls every single aspect of your life that could possibly be controlled by an OS and you have to keep paying or nothing you own will work.
