Post Aliotroph, wad download problems?

Any joy downloading those wads now?
Hey Double D, can you see if you can download any of the wads from Doom Heaven?

I uploaded a download stats logging script that seems to be causing Aliotroph problems but I works okay for me.

Your post count says 1557. I thought it said 1337 for a while there. Silly blind eyes of mine.

Hopefully there will be enough spare for me to finish my new wad for the 2000th post.

Trying out the DeepSea demo, okay so far.

Yeah, it seemed pretty good. I'm trying out Wadauthor now to see if I like that. It's lots quicker than DEU/DETH but there are a couple issues I need to sort out before I can do any real mapping. For example, when I create a column in the middle of a sector, how the hell do I delete the damn thing???

Luck with that editor jobby.

Damnit if I feel like making a Fakk 2 map now. I downloaded the tools but I need to clear off 700mb of space on that drive.

You will need about 750 MB free on your hard drive to unpack these files. To do
this, drop the PK3 files on zip extraction utility like WinZip and unpack the
paks with the Folder Names option checked into the "fakk" directory of this

Question

Why can't the editor just use the packed paks???

Why can't it be simple indeed!!!!! It drives me crazy. All I want is to make a simple room or 2 to see if I like the editor with editing that game and all you get is a bunch of BULLSHIT. I looked in those pak files and there is a TON of stuff the editor doesn't even need like Millions of Mp3 files. Ugh! Back to Doom I guess. Tackle this jobby anouther day.

Those bastards and they're sloppy design!!!

Even HL editing can be a real pain. Back to my wadauthor. I made a little progress with that last night.

Setting up Worldcraft for the first time can be a pain in the ass. I converted all my Half-Life maps to Opposing Force maps because I wanted to use the xtra gear like weapons and monsters plus the other environment and scripted stuff.....BUT it's not possible to make an Op Force Mod because........Fuck I can't remember but Gearbox has it set up so you can't. I had my splash screen and had my mod appear in the Custom game menu....but even if you start it in Op Force it defaults everything to Half-Life when you boot up the game. So I'm really peeved off about that. My Destination Mars Mod is dead in the water. Oh well.

I didn't know you were doing a mod. That would have been cool. I was converted DooM's e1m6 to HL once. It was looking damn cool but Worldcraft killed my map and I was too lazy to do that again.

I was heavy into Half-Life mappin after playing the game. I joined a SP Mod team and I wrote a big document on the new monsters while the leader rounded up a coder and a sound guy. We just got started and I made a list of map ideas for the mappers to use as a guide. It was suppose to be a Mars mod and the whole idea was pretty kewl. Then one day they deciced to make a DM mod called Farm Wars instead. So the mars idea died and the farm thing was more than half done when they dropped it. Glad I didn't follow them on that farm thing. LOL. So I said screw you guys I'll make it myself and I took my Half-Life maps and started to do some different stuff and decided to go the Op Force route cause I liked it so much. Oh well......thats the way it goes. Something might come from my Half-Life editing yet.....at least it was good practise. But now if anybody wants me to join them on a project I always tell em 'no thanx' because I'd rather do it myself and not have somebody else tell me the whole thing is not going to get finished. That sucks when that happens.

Oh well is right. Maybe DooM III will be a little easier to make stuff for...rather than these other 3D games. So far the first Doom games seem to rule as far as ease of making even basic levels go.
