Exclamation PHUCK UP: MAP10: Vilecore

After going through the Blue Key door, you go through a courtyard, into a building with a hige slime pool with enemies and a switch on the other side.

Phuck up noticed.

I did everything, but I was at a dead end. For kicks, I tried to shoot that switch, thinking it was a shootable switch. Couldn't reach it, it was too high for gunfire to hit it. I quit the game and loaded the map onto DETH. Yep, that switch is a shootable, requred to raise the zig-zag bridge to continue to the Yellow Key door.

The switch is too high for the gunfire to hit it. Being I found the bug, I IDDQD'd and IDCLIPped past it, chainsawed the switch, raised the platform, went back and undid the cheat codes to play as intended after the fact.

Thought I'd point that one out. It was a good map, otherwise.

Hey REoL, I playtested that switch and either the double barrel shotgun or the chaingun should reach that switch no-prob!

Just to make sure the switch is okay, I replayed that area just now. With one blast from the double barrel the switch was hit.

Sorry, that you had to do all that no-clipping but didn't you have any shells or bullets left to shoot the switch??

NO NO Darknation, the switch is hittable without mouselook!

REALLY?!

I even sidestepped so when the player bobs high, he'd be at the switch. Shot it, almost hit it, but didn't.
The switch is too high, though. Never tried the double-barrel. Maybe I'll go back for kicks and see if it works, or BooM doesn't do the job there.

Yeah....do a run through and see if you can hit that pesky switch using the double barrel and let me know if it's hittable in Boom or not.

It did, after several tries. I guess BooM handles that one differently. Apperently, it's still too high, because I did try every weapon on it once, at least, when I found the problem.

Yeah...Okay I knew it was high but I can hit it without using a port and ya...sometimes it takes a few shots. Ummmmm, there is a few more shootable switchs in the wad so have fun

What map are you in now REoL?

Still stopped on MAP13. I had other things to do, like update the Slumlord Site again. Two "Ask the Slumlord" articles are up:

* Tenants that don't speak english
* Apartments not making money

There's a comic strip at the end of both.

Now map12.
On that map10, the first shot attempt with the SSG worked.
But, thanks to some good ports that allows mouselook, I used a pistol and walked across.

I would've started the game with ZDooM, but I don't trust the savegame ability on it. Then again, I had an older version.

I don't know if I'm an idiot or there's a bug, but I'm now stuck at map32: Vilecore. I've slayed a few arches, imps, barons, and all. Now I couldn't get anywhere. The hall that had four peepholes covered, one of them was a bit open so I shot the other hole, got three lost souls (poor them) and loaded them some shells directly on their noggin'. I ran back, went thru two pairs of metal doors, looked around, nothing, went back, yellow door locked. Went back, down, saw a metal blocking my path. I'm now stuck! I refuse to cheat, and I'm asking for hint!

I found another snafu before MAP10.
I forget the map, but there's anarrow hallway with a 128-unit waide jump, and when you clear, tons of hidden demons and spectres attack. If you trigger their arrival and duck out the door, a metal partition renders progression useless.

Ahhhh, but amongst 32 maps, there's bound to be a few little snafu jobbys Hey, I never said it was gonna be REoL Easy

Besides, Ferrari just said he made it through the Vilecore map and he didn't need my hint.....cool

I haven't gotten to play the megawad too much lately, but I'm already on level 37. I haven't noticed any flaws yet...except there was that one engine flaw on map 2 or 3, in the room with the red skull key on top of the pillar. On the wall opposite the pillar, if you look from a certain angle you can see through it (semi-HOM) and into another part of the level several yards away. Ack.

But the wad is nice. Pretty stupe--er, super! heheh...oh my...

Haa haa....thanx, I guess!

I know about the hom Don showed me and "sniff" I wanna "gulp"........

Oh well! It turns out that I've learned a lot from just releasing this project. My next project will be much better..

Level 37! Where the heck is that? Really, Zack, how far did you play into it?

Did anyone find the super-secret area yet? It's like a minimap or somethin..
