Post Demo camera utility idea

I've given some thought to creating a small utility that can make creating those camera-controlled demos (you know, like that scdemo thingy).
The only thing that makes this near to impossible is that you can't display the positions of the objects on a map by just loading the map and playing the demo.
You'd also have to check for collision detection with walls, and make sure new objects are created.

(And the rambling continues... )

This might be possible if you could dump the positions and stats of every object in every gametick to a special kind of demo file. But I don't think Hurdler will find time to do that. Any other suggestions?

I don't think you're going to be able to create something like the demo editors for Quake unfortunately.

However, when I made scdemo I didn't realize I could have used clock() to figure out the timing.

I don't plan to create something like that, Legacy doesn't have enough features for that.
But my idea is to set different actions on a time-line (like change camera or show message) and then later on 'compile' it into a FraggleScript file which can then be merged into the wad.

When (if) I do another movie, I'm going to put clock() in a loop then take screenshots when I need an action or something. Then figure out the timing using the old method of addition and subtraction.

If you could make a program to do that, it might be useful.
