Little problem with Joysticks

Could you Legacy fellars fix this little problem? (Little slang there) The problem I have with my Wingman Rumble Pad is that when I'm on 2 player mode I try to move my character (with player 1) but strangely, it moves player 2, but player 1 can still shoot, switch weapons, jump like an idiot (which I do sometimes ) etc. could yall fix this? Or have I been running into this big rock that these Z Doom natives been using to block me?
