does anyone know how to use the DOOMWADDIR variable, I know it will let me put the doom.wad file in another place but I'm not sure how to use it.

The basic syntax is "set doomwaddir=doomdir" where you replace the "doomdir" with the directory where your main IWAD is, like set doomwaddir=C:\doom, assuming I remember it correctly.
I used to have a 4DOS batch-file which I used in launching Legacy in DOS, and I used a menu, where I could choose the IWAD I wanted to play and then the doomwaddir variable was set accordingly. Perhaps if you use wide variety of IWADS you could use same kind of strategy? I suppose that new cool launcher which we have in the windows version has made the good old doomwaddir a bit obsolete? |
