Everyone that thinks that a support 4 nullmodem directlink should be included to the next legacy release please write your comments!
I live in sweden and I can't afford all telephone bills I get from playing online! You should see my bills! So me and my buddy got this Null-modem to play starcraft and such games, but we wanna play Legacy 2!!! |

I think this should work rather similar to a modem-to-modem connection (I think there was a thread on this forum). You only have to set up an IP connection between the hosts over the cable. Basically you need to have TCP/IP protocol installed, some kind of nullmodem driver. And you need to choose a fix Ip address for each host. Try a search engine with something like "nullmodem + tcp" if you do not succeed. You may need to experiment a bit, but this definitely the way to go!

Hey,
yes this would probably be a good idea... but there is a way i know to do this using the "Direct cable connection" program under Windows 95/98. (Note: I only know how to do this under Win95 or Win98) It requires some setting up though each time you do it (probably about 5min of configuring). It works by using "Direct Cable Connection" to simulate a TCP/IP (or whatever protocols are bound to the "Dial-Up Adapter") network over a parallel/serial cable. If anyone is interested in how to do this send me an e-mail and i'll explain it step by step... I'd expect you'd already know how to add/remove protocols from adapters, using the windows 95/98 network properties (very simple..) E-mail me at: Ven@eol.ieaust.org.au Vengeance. ------------------ its boring when you're not having fun. |

I remember doing this with an older version of the Win32 Legacy using Direct Cable Connection in Win9x, and it worked just fine. I think I only used IPX. I'll try later with this newest version of Legacy.
