Just some things which would be cool to see in JDoom:
1: Software support! Oh how cool it would be if I could run JDoom on my poor laptop with no 3D accelerator. 2: MD3 support! 'nuff said ![]() 3: MP3 support, would be neat hearing some other music than that cheesy midi music. Darn, actually that is all I can think of right now. -Remi |

Hmm.. the J engine is pretty fantastic at this point id have to say... i cant wait till Heretic and especially Hexen get upgraded to this lastest version!!
I remember when Jaakko originally introduced the flare effects into the game, I think he mentioned having lots of flare graphics to chose from... it would be nice to have a flare browser or something and to be able to select new flare graphics and stuff... One of the early pics of JHexen with flares looked absolutely tremendous... I have a pic of these old flares but i dunno how to post the pic in here. Apart from this, the mp3 sound support would be nice too, id love to get the psx doom soundtrack somehow, and play it within JDoom... Theres nothing else u could really want from Jdoom.. although everytime u seem content, Jaakko always seems to go one better and release a more impressive version! I still cant get over how amazing that A3D sound mode is with that dll file and the SBLive!.... incredible... Oh, MD2 models for Heretic and Hexen would be the ultimate.... BAM

You should try checking the Jdoom page once in a while. The next update will support MP3, XM, IT, S3M and MID. And some editing candy is being added to Jdoom. And as for your software support, run Jdoom with -allowsoftware parameter. But why wold you want to do this though? Jdoom is all about eye candy, unless you want soft eye candy, which would be very limited to probably some cheap dynamic lights.

Editing support is the most important. I still think the flares are way too extensive, but that's just me it seems. I think the spin should be taken off some of the models. I know Quake did it, but they look funny like that. JDoom looks really good right now, but Legacy still has better playablility (and that kick-ass launcher).
