Since the new guy tried to start a topic about people's favorite KoRn songs, I figured I'd start one about an artist/band alot more people around here know about:
Trent Reznor/ Nine Inch Nails. Whats your guys' favorite song, and if you've ever been to a concert or performance, what was your favorite event? I have a top 10 list of fav songs from NIN: 1. We're in this Together 2. Closer (static-X remix) 3. All that Could have Been 4. The Fragile/The Wretched 5. The Great Below 6. La Mer/Pilgrimage 7. March of the Pigs 8. Terrible Lie 9. Starf***'s Inc. w/Marilyn Manson 10. Stupify (NIN remix) We're in this Together- i've become impossible holding on to when when everything seemed to matter more the two of us (all used) all used and beaten up watching fate as it flows down the path we have chose you and me we're in this together now none of them can stop us now we will make it through somehow you and me if the world should break in two until the very end of me until the very end of you awake to the sound as they peel apart the skin they pick and they pull trying to get their fingers in well they've got to kill what we found well they've got to hate what they fear well they've got to make it go away well they've got to make it disappear the farther i fall i'm beside you as lost as i get i will find you the deeper the wound i'm inside you for ever and ever i am a part of you and me we're in this together now none of them can stop us now we will make it through somehow you and me if the world should break in two until the very end of me until the very end of you all that we were is gone we have to hold all that we were is gone we have to hold when all our hope is gone we have to hold all that we were is gone but we can hold on you and me we're in this together now none of them can stop us now we will make it through somehow you and me even after everything you're the queen and i'm the king nothing else means anything Fav event: I'd have to say the whole All that Could have been Tour DVD. It was awesome. |

Amy persuaded me to buy a NIN CD, the worst musical purchase I ever made, I couldnt sit through any of the tracks. Im assuming this band has some sort of 'bad boy' image, I cant imagine anyone actually rushing out to buy stuff like that unless its important to them as a part of the image they want to project to the world, "hey look at me, I like such and such a band so I must be cool"

My thoughts exactly Exl...
Makes me wonder which CD Mystic bought, because I know if you listened to The Fragile CD, I couldn't see it as being made for developing a "bad boy" image...

fav song would have to be Hurt
but i like Terrible lie, but not as much as hurt, or Ringfinger thats a pretty good one. And i like Wish as well, but i'm not a huge fan really, got into them in high school when i saw them on beavis and butthead doing march of the pigs, i liked downward spiral, good songs on there, i liked broken and fixed and pretty hate machine, but i'm not familiar with anything else, i thought the song with david bowie he did was absolutely pitiful. the afraid of americans song, the song from lost highway was better, but not much more effort was put into it. ah well ------------------ "I never thought i would get so far in life by being so obnoxious" ---Billie Joe Armstrong, Green Day Visit http://doomwadreview.8m.net for the best wads out there

Well here's a little secret, *looks around* any of you Quake people who like the tracks are into NIN and you didn't know it, 'cause Trent Reznor, lead singer of NIN made them, Bwah hah hah ha! Same when Doom 3 comes out!

Pretty hate machine was the pretty hateful CD I bought, a waste of 16 pounds.

LMAO @ Mystic.
No Wonder! That was like their first CD, often times bands don't necissarily do too good on the first cd. But, I'm not gonna try and convince you to give em' a 2nd shot, I know how you are when you set your mind to something, Mystic. Might I suggest you try to find the song, "All that Could have Been." It's a good song, and nothing like that which was on the Pretty Hate Machine. Downloading saves us all money, hahaha. Not sure how much pounds are in American money...

Bah, pretty hate machine was a brilliant album and very ground breaking in it's time. At the time, no other band sounded like that and I loved it! Still do, and it's got a permanent home in my 60 disc changer.

NIN is alright, the music can be a bit ambient at times (most of Quake sound track), but there are a few pieces I like by NIN.
