Muahahahaha!!!
You guys kept telling me I wouldn't get it right on the first try, and someone mentioned how XP's networking wizard sucked. But it's not true!!! Using the wizard I got everything set up between my two computers on the first try and everything works great! From printers to file sharing to Doom! I'm in HEAVEN!!1 |

Okay, for ONE, I never said you wouldn't get it your first try. If all you're doing is connecting two computers via Cat-5 or USB, it's VERY EASY! Networking becomes complicated when you want to do somthing like play a DOS IPX game and your protocals aren't set up to do it, or when you're setting up permission rights to different computers on the multi-computered network. You might think you're networking balls have dropped, but I garuntee you you'll be whining for help when your fist problem arises.

Let me guess, you're using the same OS on both machines? I agree with Monkey, something will pop up that will make things difficult. ------------------ -DarkWolf Requiescat in pace. 446F 6F6D |

95 and 98 seem to like each other just fine.

Monkey says he's just being a goofnut. I am using a good ole set of Ethernet cards, not USB or anything else, and I hooked up the computers with a crossover cable. Everything compatible with XP works fine, and yes I do have XP installed on both systems.

XP and ME (possibly 2k) work fine with each other, and 98/95 work with each other. Okay, it's possible to go between XP/ME and 98/95, but it's more difficult. And somethings don't work either, like the "built-in" internet connection sharing, and you can't search for a computer unless you have mapped a network drive to that particular machine.
