The Taliban ambassador was on Larry King Live tonight. One would think that an interview with this person would be signifigant enough to warrent allowing him to make a complete statement, even to the point of extending the show if necessary.
What did Larry King do? He cut the interview short for a commercial! FOR A ^(*&#(*@ COMMERCIAL! I can't believe it. If I had been in charge, I would have let the continue to its conclusion, because it is important. ------------------ Choose your poison:

Holy shit! What the Hell are these Americans doing? You don't cut something like that off! For one thing it's very very important and somewhat interesting, and for another it could easily be interpreted as some kind of hate message. None of us have any love fot the Taliban, but you don't go cutting them off in mid-sentence for a damn commercial!
I heard Britain's declaring war too. This is going to get crazy at some point. ------------------ "Killed Aliotroph?" - obituary from Perfect Dark |

Egads, how very CNN.....
If that had been Bill O'Reilly, on FoxNews, it wouldn't have been interrupted by a commercial, I can tell you that! ------------------ William 'Phoebus' Mull NewDoom.com MindlessGames.com Gaming is a state of mind. If you're mindless, please take mine.

I saw an article in the paper about Americans who voice dissent being silenced by other Americans or companies. Glad I don't live there right now.

I don't think it was a universal thing. They had interviews with a few journalists from America (some of them prominent). FedEx actually pulled its ads from a magazine which ran a column debating some issues that are commonly accepted now (using cruise missiles was called cowardly by this person in comparison with killing yourself in a plane). The paper this showed up in was not a trashy piece of work either; I think it was a national paper.
I'm not saying I agree with everything said there (although it is true Americans don't like casualties in war - neither do Canadians for that matter). I just thought I'd point out that many offical opinions are becoming one-sided. Here's a good example. Our Prime Minister said Canada was ready to go to war if need be. Everyone accepted this. Our defense minister turned around and said we're not. I don't know numbers, but I know most people went with what the PM said initially. ------------------ "Killed Aliotroph?" - obituary from Perfect Dark |
