Damn you! A hacker! A HACKER!
Sorry, couldn't resist.
Okay, so, we lost 3.5 years of posts...and all the great memories, right? WRONG! Those memories are up here, in your delicious BRAINS, where meaty chunks of data dash around like mice, mice inside a brain of memories. Lost my train of thought. Choo choo cha boogie...oh my. Oh yeah! What I'm getting at is, this thread is for us to recollect the best of the old ND forums. Although we no longer have authentic copies of some of those grand old posts...we can still remind each other about it all. In here, old New Doom lives. Everywhere else...long live New New Doom! ![]() I wish I could read about how we saved Lara Croft so many years ago.

I remember Zack went off and said he going on a vacation (or he was ticked off or something) and he made a bedlam account and started talking to us like some green no0b. Nobody knew it was Zack for about a year... no I think it was just a month, then he confessed to me and sent me the bedlam account to my email. Silly bugger.
Then there was the time Zack started a thread about my nick, more or less questioning why I would pick such a crappy nickname. It got a little out of hand and we ended up going back to the topic and changing the whole argument into a topic about cheese which only made the other posters look like they were just as weird as us since they weren't discussing cheese.

Nice title, Zack. Shame I can't remember what the first version of that was.
I remember the insanely long post where people suggested names for the New Doom. And then we all got screwed as id just threw a 3 on the end. ![]() Some of the coolest threads would have to be the crazy story ones, as Zack mentioned, with Cyberchickens and "Laura" Croft and what not. I really hope someone managed to save them somewhere. Another stupid thing I remember was how D_D used to put spaces either side of punctuation , like so ! Eventually he was swayed to the commonly accepted way of typing... ![]() Other fond memories... Mythos Outpost. Luckily the website is still around, so you can view Zack's wonderful reply to someone saying there shouldn't be save games in Doom 3. Clickah. I also remember working on a piece of art or two for aforementioned site, and D_D bugging me about it for ages. Heh, I never did finish those. Yay for nostalgia.

Don't forget the old snowball fights.
One of my favourites was the picture of a guy in a funny pose on a bike, and everybody edited it to look like he had a jet engine in his arse and stuff. *sigh* |

The oldest of old timers might remember when curse words were completely disabled. The word 'assassinate' would always appear as '******inate.' heheh.
Finite: The original was "Damn you! A frog! A FROG!" IIRC, Monkey posted it in anguish, after discovering Hasbro's Frogger CD-ROM would not play in Windows 2000. Thanks for remembering all the CRAPPY things I did, Doom_Dude. Hahah. You left out when I sent you my Zack account, and then created it again and begged wmull to change my user settings (like registration date and post count) back to the way they were. One of those crazy stories had me splintering into pieces, then being scotch-taped back together. Didn't work well. And damn Finite, I completely forgot about that short story. It's amazing what I could churn out at the ripe old age of 15. ![]() One of my favorite threads was Looney's "Doomer's Confessional." Too bad that one didn't live too long. :-) Last edited by Zack; January 8th, 2004 at 04:02 PM. |

How many times did ReoL get banned in total from all doom sites? I think Diablo is his only competition.
