Merging levels?

Hello all.

I just started creating my own Doom 2 maps in Doom Builder 2. I'm still getting the hang of it, as this is my first time ever that I'm editing. I was wondering how to make a WAD that has several levels in it. I was thinking about doing an episode replacement, like just 8 or 9 levels, within one WAD. Any help would be appreciated

Hi Gravespawn. Welcome to the world of doom level designing.

Merging maps is easy. Once you've started your 2nd map you can just use Doom Builder 2 to merge them. Go to the file menu. Click on 'Save map into..' and then choose your first map file and DB2 will combine them. Now when you load the file you merged your map into, you should see the two maps in the list. Pretty easy. Just make sure when you make a new map with DB2 you give it a different level name. Map01, map02, etc.. (for doom2) or e1m1, e1m2 (doom), etc.. otherwise if you have 2 map01's then the first one will get overwritten when you merge. Be sure to make backups of your work.

Thanks a bunch man, it worked!

I did two maps so far. One is finished and the other is still in progress. They're replacements for MAP01 and MAP07. MAP01, which I will call Blood Arena, is the one in progress. MAP07 is, so far, called Relay Station and is my finished one. These don't replace any sprites or sounds, because I'm a beginner. I literally just started today lol.

If you, or anyone wants to check them out, go here:

I would absolutely love any critique

Thank you.
