Level Of The Day
Back in the olde days (a few years back) I had a section on my site: The Megawad that was called The Best Of Doom. I was going to revive it but decided to change the name to Level Of The Day. I felt Best of Doom was misleading due to the fact that I don't play enough levels to actually pick out the best ones. Although the idea for BoD was that I would post about the best maps I played. Ummm I just think it's better if I post about any nice / kewl maps that I play during any particular day (it's not a dayly feature). I find Level Of The Day a more fitting title, even more so than 'Level Of The Week' which many sites have used for this kind of thing, yet many of those places have gone months without posting anouther level making the whole weekly thing a farce... heh.
This is not a review area although I give some basic 'review like' comments on the maps. I don't go into depth as I would in a full review and the concept is to point out what maps I think are worth playing. So there will never be any bad / crap levels in the LoTD section. Obviously that all my opinion as to what's good or not.Just want to point out here that: I don't take requests and this is not a review section (Please don't send any requests or any files!) Anyhow so far I've done up Nine maps (all singleplayer) and have plans for more soon. Demons of Problematique by Exl Point Of No Return by Job Songs Of The Damned by iori Sapphire - Orbital Research by Tormentor 667 Zaero Episode 1 by Steven Searle Decade by Russell Pearson Jet01 by Jetflock High/Low1 by Chris Hansen Under Neith by Sarge Baldy Any feedback on the whole dealie is appreciated. Sounds cool. I really like the idea of you finding good maps better than me finding good maps to play because I just don't have the patience anymore.

Yeah I know whatcha mean Alio.
I'm not sure what you mean Fatal. Do you mean I'm wrong in not saying it's a review thinghy or that I'm doing it wrong? Or do you mean I'm going to go wrong with it. Last edited by Doom_Dude; August 20th, 2006 at 06:36 PM. |

I have a comment, I have a comment! I'm very tired and just got back from a trip from Chicago back home that totalled 4+ hours.
...Oh, you mean comments on the LotD? In that case, I have two comments, with the first one being totally unrelated. ![]() Considering it's sporadically ( ) updated, I think that a better name for it would be "Level of the Whenever." However, other than that this is prooty nifty and should save some time from looking around for good levels. So it looks like a grood idea to me.Now, damnit, it's ten past midnight and I'm going to bed, mumble grumble. |

Have to persuade her to do those things though. She doesn't like plugging into the computer because she says it makes her insides feel like they're turning to liquid.

It doesn't seem to work on jetflock.
![]() I just had a weird thought. What if Winona was to make an Alio-bot? Last edited by Doom_Dude; August 22nd, 2006 at 07:47 AM. |

Then... then I wouldn't say anything, and just walk calmly to the sea until I drown.

Well theres lots of good levels that aren't on here yet. Thing is, I'm kinda lazy in the Doom playing department. Maybe I go play some random maps now since nobody is buggin' me. Tho I should first get some Doom news now that I'm back on the olde comp.

I bet Winona's Alio-bot would decide it likes my Winona-bot and that's the last we'd see of either of them.

But wait a sec, is the Winona-bot self-aware, as in aware that she's not the real Winona? Because if not, that would mean that Alio-bot is not self-aware either, and while that would make it a surefire thing that Alio-bot would fall in lourve with Winona-bot, the minute Alio-bot were to see the real Alio, its head would explode.
Then Winona-bot would start questioning whether she was the real Winona, because surely if she has the power to create an Alio-bot then Alio must have the power to create a Winona-bot. Then she would start wondering, as well, why she would hang out with Alio when she's a famous actress anyway. Then she would slowly realize through deductive logic that she is indeed a Winona-bot, and her head would a'splode as well. Then Alio would be left with no bots, all to himself, when he'll start questioning whether he's the original Alio either, or if, rather, he is an Alio-bot that made a Winona-bot that made an Alio-bot-bot. And finally he will come to realize that because his NewDoom phorum title reads "Imposter Winona-bot," that he is actually a Winona-bot, and has never actually looked in a mirror to confirm whether or not he was Alio or not. When he does test this he finds that indeed he is a Winona-bot, and begins to wonder whether the original Winona ever existed, or was a bot from the beginning, and will wonder who on the frigging earth Alio is and what kind of sick person he has to be to create artificial life that thinks it's real life and doesn't know who/what it really is, let alone leaving it to figure all this stuff out on its own. Oh yeah, and then finally after all that deep thinking that the Winona-bot (who believed it was Alio) that made a Winona-bot-bot that made an Alio-bot-bot-bot has done, its head will finally bot--I mean, explode--as well. And that is why bot-paradoxes, while not as severe as time-paradoxes, are never, EVER a good thing, and why bots, in the end, should ultimately never be created unless they are given full awareness from the start of who they are. And time-paradoxes also are a very big reason not to time-travel. But of course, if Winona is self-aware, then I suppose we are in the clear... for now. Otherwise, we may very soon have a problem on our hands. Woah. *cough* Well, erm... good luck with the LotW, Doom Dude.
