Haven't done a whole lot of mapping lately. I did start one project a while back that was turning out fairly nicely. The scripting for it wasn't working quite right in Legacy, but it was in gzdoom. But I would have to give up my coronae if i use gzdoom.

Flush the coronae and go GZDoom. Get some slopes, 3d floors and reflective floors, decorate monsters....ooooh yeah.

While you're at it you can also have DECORATE weapons and player classes, a GL renderer that doesn't have any hole-creating problems (though I imagine this is being fixed for Legacy 2), polyobjects, PK3/ZIP support and universal scripting that can be interchanged between maps using only one script lump (though I s'pose I don't know anything about Legacy's form of scripting, to be fair).

Well, though, honestly I should have been fair and noted that aside from the GL renderer, all that stuff I mentioned (the new ones anyway, polyobjects and DECORATE weapons have been around forever and a day) is from the most recent update (which was the first major update in 7 years from what I've heard) to ZDoom. Then of course it's got the FS support, 3D/GL effects and such.

Really, like Skulltag, GZDoom is basically a ZDoom-based port with different added features to meet desires that some people want more in certain areas that Randy isn't interested or concerned with adding to the original port. But I have to admit he did to a very nice job of it either way.

I remember when Legacy was more advanced than a lot of sourceports. The time period before Zdoom started getting updated past 1.22, which was a long wait as well.

Zdoom fans want Legacy features.
Legacy fans want Zdoom features.
Heh eventually both development teams will go as far as they can go with it, and end up with almost the same thing.
Though a big difference will be better video and network capabilities.

Well I was thinking about doing a new level of the day jobby.

I started playing that Phocas Island 2 level but got stuck in a hole after killing a boss centaur dude. :/ So I may have to find some other doom maps to try out.

Try mine´s :P. Serious, you could try this "Impossible" wad... It´s not half as good as I expected or it was hyped but has a couple of nice touches you´d like to comment on. The rest is straight Dooming with a large bit of unfairness.
