You wouldn't want to have a rec room where the Viles are hanging out.

I can see something that looks like a 3D Floor in the first screenshot. Are you using Risen3D? The graphics are too good to belong to Legacy.
![]() EDIT: Reply to Hans. Does jDoom support 3D Floors? I know R3D does and that has the closest resemblance. Last edited by g6672D; May 2nd, 2006 at 05:22 PM. |

Aw, you guys spammed the bandwidth and now the first screen disappeared.
There are no 3D floors in Vilecore 2. It's vanilla DooM. DD uses JDoom for screens unless he builds a Legacy map. |

so did we ever decide to remove that one wall, since it was deemed non-load bearing?

That structure the pillars are holding up seems a little odd all the same. Must be an optical illusion.

I find these screenies pretty good looking. You know, balanced, sober, subtle... I think I will like this VileCore II when released (and I hope I´m not out of this Doom business when that happens!!)... Surely, all things slowly move on to their completion

It is. Look closely. The ceiling texture at the edge changes to FlAT20 where the wall is angled. It makes the structure look 3D becase the FlAT20 part looks like an extension of the bricks and you expect the rest of the ceiling to be black.

Ahhh I see what you guys mean now.
Here's a screenie of what is up there... ![]() I used the flat20 (like Alio mentioned) because I didn't like my custom ceiling flat being split in that spot because it was off the grid.. In game it doesn't really have that 3d effect... that was just an optical illusion caused by the screenshot (methinks). Anyways the 3dness was unintentional and certainly no trick. Unless I'm like FATAL and have some kind of hidden talent I don't know about.

Well, I was looking at that and decided I didn't like the look. Then I was thinking about how I'd have done the details and realized it would be too tech-ish. Then I thought about the style of that map and how being too tech-like wouldn't work and I decided I like it the way it is. I can't quite figure out what style of map this is, but it does look neat.

Also keep in mind that I'm not finished with it.
![]() I need to get back into it too PumpkinSmasher. I spent most of today taking lumber across a lake with various relatives, for a roofing job that's coming up at my parent's camp. First it was foggy, then it was misty, then it rained. Not good for getting into Doom mapping kind of mood.

Yes, you do need to get back to mapping. You must not resist mapping for Doom. Resistance is futile. Especially you, Doom Dude. You must finish Vilecore II. You must do it in a month or you will contract rabies. Map. MAP! Bwahahahahahaha, haha, hahahah--cough--ha. I have a feeling Metroid Prime is about to suck me out of mapping... where's those damned ice missles... |
