VooDoo1 ?

I'm running Win95 and a VooDoo1.
JDoom is making me use -allowsoftware
Is it possible to use the voodoo1 hardware
?

Hi. You shouldnt have any problems running the Voodoo1 in hardware, it is fully supported. My friend uses it, but it runs REAL slow unless you turn down the number of lenses flares per light, from 5 down to 2. I cant remember if DLaunch has these options, you may need to manually edit the jdoom.cfg file. Good luck.

Does he have ot use a special -gl setting?
Can i get his email to discuss what drivers he has installed.
I just reinstalled my voodoo (as i haven't been gaming lately) and i have quake working fine but JDOOM doesnt seem to aknowledge the card

Hi, sorry not replying sooner. My frined is a bit of a novice, I set up his computer for him. He no longer has the voodoo1, he got a voodoo3, but dont worry I will happily try to assist. For his PC, he had an Orchid 3D voodoo1, which i did not use the specific drivers for, i just went to the £dfx site and downloaded the latest reference drivers. If you look in your forder where you have Jhexen installed, you should see several batch files with various titles, such as 3dfx, 3dfxogl etc... Try using the plain 3dfx.bat file. If that doesnt work, or that particular batch file is not present on your installation, try installing a much older version of Jhexen (pre 98.4), the batch files should be included in that release. If you are running into probs, just e-mail me at freaked-out-alien@altavista.net and let me know exactly what issues your having and i will try to work it out. Jhexen generally runs ok with a voodoo1, but as I said before, the lense flares are a real performance killer, unless toned down (still looks ace though). Anyway, let me know if you have any luck...
