I just thought I would bring this up.
Several years ago, a friend and I came up with the idea for a new DooM IWAD called "The People's DooM" (TPD).
I announced the project way back in 2003 (!), and whipped up a quick and dirty IWAD consisting entirely of temporary entries, including grey stucco walls, mannequin enemies, levels randomly generated by Slige, and farts for sound effects.
Unfortunately, nothing much happened after that. There was some short lived interest, but not enough to get the project going, and so it has remained ina sort of sleep mode since then.
Since there has not been much activity here lately, I would like to suggest (again) the idea of reviving TPD as a group project for the folks here on this forum. It would be a worthwhile endevour and could be kind of fun.
What do you think?
