Hi my first post, having not played Doom for years, last time was just when Jdoom came out but before MD2 models was used, i used Zdoom and GL Zdoom back then on 1024X 17" Monitor.

But i have tried to use hi res Doom ports as the old graphics do not look well on a 1080p set up.

I installed Risen 3D and all the addons, but i get a glitch in the game simular to what this guys has had in this image http://img145.imageshack.us/img145/4017/newbitmapimagelq.jpg

I tried the fix by using glbsp even renaming the gwa to r3dgwa as in this topic http://forums.newdoom.com/archive/index.php/t-36865.html

But no matter what i still get the glitch unless i turn off Dynamic Lights..

Also is it normal to get low frame rates, i get about 30FPS with all options on.

My System is a Quad Core 1.8Ghz CPU, Ram is 2GB 800Mhz, VGA is on board ATI HD 3200 (sharing 256MB system Ram). Surely my Pc should be good enough to get 60fps?

Any help would be appreciated

I suspect you are using a very old version of Risen3D, since the image does not show the revision number. What revision are you running ? I have just now tried the latest revision and all was fine for me with doom2 map 08.

Cheers well that image is not mine.

Just pointed to that as i get the same kind of glitch here and there in all Dooms.

some said it could be my Card cant handle the dynamic lights due to my Z buffer.

But Jdoom and Doom Remake (Jdoom clone with even more advanced lighting) suffers no such problems.

Maybe its just the way Risen is coded, that my Card is just not suited to that port of the game.

The Risen i use is the 2.2.1.2

What system do you use?

I have Vista 32bit with a AMD Phenom 9150e X4 1.8Ghz CPU, 2GB 800Mhz DDR2 Ram and on board ATI HD 3200 (which is my bottle neck).

My Vista Scores show CPU =5.7 Ram = 5.4, HDD =5.9 and VGA =3.6

Thank You

It might be your vid card. Radeon cards have had problems before.

See Risen3D_Readme.txt and read the section with the heading AMD/ATI RADEON:

Yeah guess i should have read the readme file.

Seems as abbs told me that i need to upgrade my VGA card, i will do so at some point in future as only have a $150/£100 budget for now.

My system has 250w PSU so maybe new PSU would be needed which would reduce the amount to spend on VGA card.
