Boingo the Clown

I just watched the original 1977 movie for the first time since it originally aired when I was a kid, and I was pleasantly surprised to see just how good a movie it was, despite having been made in the '70s on a TV budget.
Actually, both the 1977 Hulk and Ang Lee's 2003 Hulk were in the same bargain bin together for the same price. I took the 1977 Hulk. It was the real bargain.
1977 Hulk: 1.4 million dollar budget + well written + well acted + well directed = Good movie.
2003 Hulk 137 million (100 times as much!) + badly written + mediocre acting + mediocre directing = mediocre / bad movie.
A good story, well acted can survive can endure in spite of a lack of fancy special effects, but all the high tech special effects in the world will not save a movie if it is not well written. I wish Hollywood will get that through their thick heads one of these days.
