View Full Version : Trying to reunite with the best Classic Doom mission pack I ever played!

Hello all,

Once upon a time, I found an excellent 32-level mission pack of Classic
Doom maps. It had tons of monsters and the levels were intuitive and
varied. What most impressed me at the time was the coherence between
levels--playing through felt like you were actually going somewhere. It
was like the old Duke Nukem 3D, where the end of one level led to the
beginning of the next.

I was very sad to realize I had misplaced the WAD somewhere (probably lost
in some PC reformat or upgrade). It has been years since I played it, and
I can't remember the name. But I really want to find it again!

Maybe someone in the forums has run into the same map pack and can tell me
what it is called? I remember several of the level themes:
-- A "ghost town" (level 5 if I recall?)
-- An oil tanker (!) (somewhere in the middle of the pack)
-- Level 29 was a fight against one of the giant wall demons (similar to
the last level in Doom 2). You had to run around and activate 8 TNT
switches to win.
-- Level 30 (and one of the previous maps) was a large model of the
research complex described in Andromeda Strain. You had to escape in a set
time before it blew. I had actually just finished reading the Michael
Crichton book at the time and found this pretty awesome.

Please, if anyone knows what level pack this is, I would love to
redownload and play it through again!!!

Cheers,
Spongebobbicus

It was indeed Fragport! Thank you so much for finding it!
Now to lock myself in my room for the next 12 hours playing Doom. My gf won't be pleased. :-)
