I came across a feature Time put up a few weeks ago, the "Top 10 Worst Video Game Movies."
Ahem...guess which one is #5 on the list? :P http://www.time.com/time/specials/packages/article/0,28804,1851626_1851846_1851702,00.html

The character wasn't "The Rock's" that you got the first-person view of, but one of his understudies.
Of course, everyone HERE knows that.....

Duude I like the Doom movie LOL. Even though they f'ed up the story...
And yeah they totally got that wrong with it being the Rock... How do you mess that up?

Karl Urban is an "understudy" of The Rock? Apparently you don't know what the definition of understudy is.
But you are correct, the article is erroneous in that respect. And too bad they don't allow comments because there'd be 10,000,000 comments about it by now.

Doom wouldn't have been a bad movie if they didn't try to make a doom movie. People were expecting a carbon copy of what they saw playing the game in the early 90's, but when they didn't get, they were disappointed. If they put another name on it, there is really not much in the movie that actually connects it to doom other than the BFG, Keycards, and the Hellknights and Pinky...Well the zombies don't really count because they're kind of a generic horror enemy.

Yeah all the enemy's in the movie more closely resembled the Doom 3 enemies. They even did a pretty crappy job at doing that.

I could make a better doom movie in an abandoned warehouse with a handicam.

I'd like to nominate the canceled Halo movie.
...Because it's fucking Halo.

Oh thank god it was cancelled.
Also, I understand there's a Warcraft movie on the way. Might actually be good. It's being produced in house, if I'm not mistaken, and they are pretty good storytellers even though WOW is pretty boring after the 300th hour

Rocky as the Doom Guy is nothing compared to Ludacris playing the part of an old white guy in Max Payne.

Whatever happened to the Wolfenstein movie. They could actually do something with that. I heard though the guy who was doing it was in a drunk driving accident or something.

The rock was not Doomguy. If anyone was supposed to be Doomguy, it was Karl Urban's character Reaper.

If Blizzard is making it then fuck yeah, I'm exited. I'm not a big Warcraft fan but Blizzard's cutscenes have always been the best evar. A full movie of them would be uber cool.

Wolfenstein movie, eh, there have been too many WW2 style with Hitler focused movies, the genre is overcrowded in the movie scene. And unfortunately, the Halo movie is not cancelled, just in limbo. Much the same deal with the Metroid movie.
This Time list is meh. Some of these movies were genuinely bad, but Hitman wasn't bad. It didn't stick straight to the games style but the movie was still moderately entertaining.

Wrong. You can do a better job with clay, and a mobile phone cam. :)
(You probably COULD, too!)
