So yeah, I saw the new Trek last week. It was damn fun. Lots of death and explosions, and silly jokes about Russian accents. :D
Well, I didn't like the bad guy much. I don't get why all the reviewers love him so much. He's just another crazy movie idiot.
Ooo, and while I was digging through the news today I found Time's Top Ten Best of Trek (http://www.time.com/time/specials/packages/article/0,28804,1896849_1896865,00.html). I think that guy has good taste in Trek.

Yeah, I had no real problem with the continuity aspect. Kind of odd how Spock didn't try to come up with a reset button for most of what happened. Seems like the kind of thing he would do since he tends to do it a lot with time travel.

I went to watch it and it entertained me, despite the fact that I can see many of the hardcore Trek fans getting uptight about all the continuity aspects. The whole movie reeked of fan service though, but that was to be expected.

yeah, but i kinda figured that since it was an accident (the time travel), and the narada was so powerful, not to mention you have the lives of two whole planets in the balance, that he just left the situation as is- knowing the enterprise could defeat nero.
i wish they left in the deleted scenes though because casual viewers prolly skimmed over the prison planet info.

A surprisingly good movie I thought, probably because I expected it to be as bad as the next generation guff (and spinoffs) thats been forced on the public for far too long.
I had to keep Unda informed about each character as she hasnt seen any star trek stuff before.
I really cant stand any of the older trekky things, far too geeky for my taste. I did enjoy the original series first time around but I was just a kid then and like most kids I had crap taste in tv shows.
