Hello,
I just recently found out about the Doom 64 TC, so I downloaded everything I needed for it and booted it up, but I have a problem -- nothing works except for the X axis. All poor little doom guy can do is spin in circles, and it's making me rage up the wall.
I mean, I can go into the options, and assign buttons just fine, both on a joypad and on the keyboard, but in the game they just don't work.
Can anyone shine light on this, so I can stop spinning in circles like a crack-addicted retard and start killing some demons?

Not sure why it would do that. Can you go into the working directory and manually change the bindings in it's .cfg?

No idea what you're talkin' about. >.o I mean, I could give it a try if I knew how.

Well there's pretty much always a game configuration file that saves game settings into a file, in most cases a .cfg/config file.
It will save the user made settings like control inputs, audio and video etc.
If your able to make changes in the ui part but it's not actually saving them to the config file then are you able to edit the config file manually?: Can you go into the working directory and manually change the bindings in it's .cfg?
If not, then the file may be corrupt or not accessable. If that's the case you may try deleting the config, and new one should be recreated by the game it's self.

Ahh, sorry for the absence here. Still getting moved in to a new place.
Anyway, I opened up the main .cfg file, and it looks like everything is set in there already. I tried nuking it and starting the game back up, and I get the same thing. Tried reinstalling Doomsday, kickstart and Doom 64 TC twice, still the same thing. The joypad I have works fine on other computer games.
Goddamn this is frustrating.*peeved*

Why are you using the Doomsday version? Didn't this mod get its own standalone .exe a long time ago?

Yeah I'm certain it's an older version of DD for the Doom64 TC/Absolution modded DD version.
If it's doing the same thing after cleaning the cfg out of there, try reinstalling.
It works on this end.

Tried reinstalling again, nothing.
CrazedImp, what's this standalone.exe you speak of? I never heard of it...

It was a standalone project called Absolution, with the standalone being Absolution.exe. It was basically just the same Doomsday project just coded into its own .exe for easier use, also fixing a few bugs. It looks like the host sites gone missing though, as it gives a page not found error. You can try googling around for some alternate mirrors.
http://www.doomworld.com/vb/wads-mods/43665-doom64-ex-1-1-feedback-build/ << There is also this, Doom64 EX project. Just be aware you will need a working copy of the Doom64 ROM to be able to play it. Just don't come asking about a Doom64 ROM on here though, as that is likely to result in a quick ban.

Link comes up with a dead site, hence why I said the sites gone missing.

Correction. The site is there, but many IP's are blocked from accessing the site by its host apparently.

Bah. Typical. But its not unusual to have Aussie IP's blocked out of stuff recently.
