First "The Thing" now they are planning a remake of "Predator" http://tinyurl.com/basf8s when will this madness stop?

No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No!
There is no effing way they will remake Predator. AVP series sucked bad enough but don't ruin the classic! Same goes for Alien. Those movies are such classics that their standards still kicks Hollywood flicks right up the arse. Would anyone remake Dr No? No effing way either!
This is just another sign that people are relying on famous names to earn some money, Blasphemy! Hollywood is seriously lacking creativity.

Whenever I hear about Hollywood's wrongdoings I'm just happy that they can't topple what they did with Solaris. It was the worst kind of blasphemy.

You know what's worse than remakes?
Hollywood version of foreign movies...
For instance, the spanish version of REC is far superior than the hollywood version...

I agree, Wa59: The Ring, Tale of Two Sisters (is The Uninvited here), etc. I <3 Asian horror flicks. Also, The Ring novels kick major butt.

The only remake that I actually liked was The Italian Job.... otherwise they should all rot. Remaking Predator is ridiculous.

I doubt George Lucas would ever let that happen. Even after he dies, he probably has Industrial Lights and Magic rigged to explode if anyone tries!
I liked the remake of Dawn of the Dead.
On the other hand, the remake of Day of the Dead was a pile of total shit.
I don't have high hopes for the Predator remake.

Its just all the more proof that nobody has any original idea's anymore.
But any remake has the possibility to be just as good or better than the original. But with the focus Hollywood has today of spending shitloads of money on special effects rather than getting the acting right, no point getting your hopes up for anything.

It's sad though what he and Steven Spielberg did with Indy 4. IMHO it will never match up to the older ones. And I was so excited ... *caccry*

Attention Hollywood: We already have 18 versions of each movie, but there are millions of books, comics, and video games that haven't been touched. Get with the program.
Why do they think they're doing "so bad" in the box office? Keep churning out crap, and people won't want to pay to see it. Simple equation.

and they are refusing to make the sequels to 'the golden compass' that really grits my tits, I was so looking forward to that one.

I'm still waiting to see how that Jacob's Ladder remake will turn out. If it's ever released. They'll probably have more sex scenes and take away the hero's glasses, since they don't make him look handsome enough to draw in the 16-28 year old girl girl demographic.
Or maybe I'm just being cynical. :p

It's sad that I've seen both versions and can't remember enough of the Hollywood one to comment on that. I don't really even know why they tried. There's no way to make most people watch that movie in any version. Not their type of movie at all.

Nope you are right and it doesnt need a remake, theres no way they can top the original. I just noticed your avatar is from the DVD cover, cool. I have only watched it once but its one of those movies that stays in your mind.
I never knew they remade 'the thing' or plan a new 'predator'. Seems a bit silly as there is nothing wrong with the originals and they are still available.
Hollywood seems to really be scraping the bottom of the barrel.

The Hellraiser remake is supposed to come out this year as well. I'm a bit skeptical. The first Hellraiser was pretty campy, but I love Clive Barker's style. Clive Barker does have something to do with it, but I don't know how much influence he'll have with it.
Here's hoping it'll be decent!
