I couldn't care for guns, personally. I can't even stand holding the fake shotguns in shooting gallery games. :) I have no problem with others worshipping them, so long as they aren't Pro-Life "advocates", and other screw-loose causes and individuals.
Yet I love DooM. I am smart enough to tell real -vs- fantasy, and because some brain-dead (or non-parented children) can't tell the difference, doesn't mean us clear-thinking people can't enjoy the games ourselves.

You shoot a DooM gun, an enemy dies, and you move on. Do the same with a real one, there's dire consequences in cases, like shooting another person. This is where the kids aren't getting the link between real -vs- fantasy. DooM: Hero. Real life(tm), murder, death, bloody pants.
