Blaze Bayley came to Campinas yesterday and I was very exited to attend to the show.
When I first arrived at the place, a night club not very far away from my girlfriend's house, it struck me that there was barely anyone at the front awaiting in line to enter.
Anyway, I arrived at 10 pm and for a number of reasons the show did only start at 1:40 am. There was a good show from a local band earlier but it was too small for some odd reason.
There was a problem in the sound system, but it was actually unoticeable during both shows. In fact, Blaze did sound great and I could hear his voice perfectly during all his show. And this is a surprise considering he was the Maiden vocalist whithout a voice. :P
It was kinda surreal to go to such a small nightclub with so very little people arround (about a hundred, even though the place could hold something around 400) to watch a Blaze Bayley show, but it actually worked favorably to me. Less people = More confort and fun.
It was a great gig, full of Blaze-era Iron Maiden songs (sounding actually much better than in their respective albuns) and good songs from his band too. He actually played almost all of my favorites from his repertoire.
Here's hoping for more Blaze and other great small Heavy metal bands peforming at that place in the future. The Hammer Rock Bar rocks! *cacchz*
